Where to stay in New Orleans for a Bachelor Party

If you’re searching for the best places to stay for a bachelor party in New Orleans, a French Quarter hotel is an excellent option for a group of men. A hotel in the French Quarter is a great place to stay for a bachelor party weekend because it puts you right in the heart of the action.

The French Quarter is the oldest and most historic neighborhood in New Orleans. It contains some of the city’s most popular landmarks and tourist attractions, including Bourbon St., the French Market, and Jackson Square.

Staying in the French Quarter also means you’re within walking distance of some of the city’s best bars, restaurants, and nightlife, making exploring the local party scene easy.

Whether you’re looking for a quiet spot to relax during the daytime or want to hit the clubs and party into the night, a French Quarter hotel puts you in the ideal location to do it all.

Additionally, many French Quarter hotels offer bachelor party packages that include special amenities like table games, bottle service, and free admission to nearby bars and music venues.

One of the top choices is the luxury Hotel Monteleone, which has existed since 1886. It’s even rumored to be haunted! The Royal Sonesta is another popular upscale hotel on Bourbon Street, within walking distance of many top attractions.

Getting around New Orleans

Getting around New Orleans is pretty straightforward, but there are a few details that you need to know about getting from one place to another.

Walking

New Orleans is a compact city and is walkable if you prefer to get around on foot. Most bachelor parties stay centered around Bourbon Street for easy access to eateries, clubs, and bars. Still, even for those who want to visit some popular tourist destinations, it is easy to walk around the French Quarter, Central Business District, and Garden District.

Bikes and Bike Tours

Exploring New Orleans can be challenging in a large group, like a bachelor or bachelorette party. However, bike tours are the perfect way to discover the city and immerse yourself in the culture while remaining organized. Try one of the Confederacy of Cruisers bike tours for a fun way to explore the city. If you want to DIY a Bike tour, you can rent a Blue Bike.

Streetcars

For travelers interested in an even more authentic experience, New Orleans’s iconic streetcars are an ideal method of transportation and are affordable. The Streetcars operate every day of the week. Not only are they good for getting around, but they are also a popular tourist attraction, with visitors riding them for unique experiences and photo opportunities.

Taxis and ridesharing

Taxis and ridesharing services such as Uber and Lyft have a solid presence in New Orleans and are affordable and easy to use. They are particularly popular for trips to and from the airport. KreweCar is a ridesharing app similar to Uber and Lyft. It specifically caters to the New Orleans market and features local drivers and cars. The app is designed to provide a safe and reliable transportation option for locals and tourists.

Tour guide

If you prefer a more traditional tour, a tour guide can provide a wealth of information about the city’s history and culture. You can choose from walking tours, bus tours, or even a ghost tour!

Things to do in New Orleans

Explore the local bar scene.

Bachelor parties in New Orleans are legendary, with endless opportunities for fun. One of the most popular things to do is explore Bourbon Street’s incredible bar scene, with unlimited stops at wet bars along the way (some offer free drinks to entice you inside!).

New Orleans is known for its happy hours. Pat O’Brien’s and Carousel Bar are two of the most popular spots, or check out one of the rooftop bars or pool parties for some fantastic views and good drinks.

Strip clubs

If you want to take things up a notch, you can always visit one of the city’s world-famous strip clubs. Bourbon Street has several strip clubs, including Rick’s Cabaret, famous for its cocktails, beautiful women, and burlesque entertainment. If you want a more risqué experience, this club is worth checking out.

Try New Orleans’s famous drinks.

For something unique, consider ordering a giant Hand Grenade (New Orleans’s most powerful drink!) from Tropical Isle, The purple drink from Jean Lafitee’s, or a Hurricane from Pat OBrien’s. I do not recommend drinking the three on the same night unless you are a gluten for punishment. Of course, a bachelor party or bachelorette weekend would only be complete with sipping a classic New Orleans Bloody Mary!

Attend a Pool Party

A rooftop pool is one of the best ways to spend the afternoon during a hot New Orleans day. Many of the hotels in the area have rooftop pools for guests to use, but the pool at the Ace Hotel or Virgin Hotel is my favorite to attend.

Buy a couple of Cigars

If Cigars are your thing, head over to the Cigar Factory New Orleans on Decatur Street or Bourbon Street for a handcrafted Cigar.

Catch a Saints Game or Pelicans Game

New Orleans loves their sports, and there isn’t a better way to celebrate your Bachelor party than attending a Saints Game or Pelicans game in the flesh!

Go on a swamp tour

A swamp tour in New Orleans is a popular activity where visitors are taken on a boat ride through the bayous, swamps, and marshes surrounding the city. These tours typically last a few hours and offer a unique glimpse into the natural beauty and wildlife of the Louisiana wetlands.

Swamp tours are usually conducted on airboats, which are flat-bottomed boats with large fans that propel them through shallow water and dense vegetation. On an airboat tour, visitors may see alligators, snakes, turtles, birds, and other wildlife that call the swamps their home. Airboat Adventures is one company that runs these swamp tours.

Go Gambling at Harrah’s casino.

If you couldn’t make it to Las Vegas – no worries. Take your chance at the slots or the tables by gambling a little at Harrah’s Casino.

Go on the Nola Brew Bus

If your Krewe loves beer, check out some of the fantastic breweries this great city offers! The Nola Brew Bus can bring you and your friends to three breweries, and no one has to worry about driving or ridesharing all over the city.

Charter a Fishing Trip

If your group is more of an outdoors group, you could always charter a fishing trip to spend a day on the water. Outside of New Orleans has some of the best fishing. Your group can take a half-day or full-day tour and cook up the fish when you return to your hotel!

Get a nice Shave

Girls like to get mani-pedis during their bachelorette parties, and men – well, you can treat yourself to an excellent shave. If you want to live on the more bougie side of your bachelor party, you can head to Aidan Gill For Men and get the closest shave of your life.

Jackson Square and French Market

Jackson Square and the French Market are great tourist attractions for your bachelor party in New Orleans. Explore the city’s history at Jackson Square and see iconic buildings such as St. Louis Cathedral, then head to the French Market for some shopping and souvenirs. As you make your way through, be sure to take in some of the music, street performers, and live entertainment found in the area.

NOLA Motorsports Park

Check out the United States’ largest karting track, NOLA Motorsports Park, for high-speed thrills. This is a go-to spot for bachelor parties and is a massive 700-acre facility.

Along with high-speed activities, including go-karting, track days, drift experiences, and performance driving lessons, Nola Motorsports also offers a suite of virtual reality simulations making for an even more exciting bachelor party experience. Whether you are looking for an adrenaline rush or prefer a leisurely drive around the track, Nola Motorsports has the perfect package to make your day unique and unforgettable.

Listen to live music.

Live jazz music can be found around every corner of the city. Notable music venues include Snug Harbor and The Spotted Cat Music Club on Frenchmen Street in the French Quarter.

Preservation Hall is a historic institution of jazz where traditional jazz is heard with many big-name jazz legends. Visit their website to see the extensive calendar of events on offer.

Jazz bands are also playing at Maison Bourbon, one of the oldest live jazz clubs on Bourbon Street. Tourists flock to this club to be entertained by authentic live jazz performances.

Take a Cruise out of New Orleans

New Orleans is the perfect city where you can have a pre-party before jumping on a four-day cruise down the Mississippi River to the Gulf of Mexico. The most popular itinerary is the four days Western Caribbean with Carnival. If you plan on cruising, contact Sunset Chasers to help you book your Bachelor Party cruise!
