If you are sailing on Virgin Voyages in the Caribbean out of Miami, you are bound to have a stop on the island of Bimini! Virgin Voyages doesn’t have a private island like other cruise lines, but when they are in Bimini Cruise port, they have access to The Beach Club at Bimini, which turns into a private beach for all people on Virgin Voyages. Let’s learn about how to make the most of your day at Virgin Voyages Beach Club at Bimini.

What is Virgin Voyages Beach Club at Bimini?
Virgin Voyages Beach Club at Bimini is a private beach open to Virgin Voyage guests while the Ship is in dock. Resorts World, a property under the Genting Group’s ownership, owns The Beach Club at Bimini. While Virgin Voyages collaborated with Resorts World Bimini to develop The Beach Club, they do not hold ownership rights to this private section. Virgin Voyages has an exclusive contractual agreement that grants them sole usage of the exclusive beach club whenever one of their ships is in a cruise port.
There are plenty of things to do on Bimini and at The Beach Club, so continue reading this list for the best tips and tricks on what to do at The Beach Club.
Schedule an early morning spa day reservation.
If you want to spend some time in the Thermal Suite, Bimini Beach Club Day is the perfect time to book a day pass to the Spa. With appointments starting as early as 7 a.m., you can relax before getting your party on. Also – Spa appointments are discounted on port days – and many people need to remember to book on Bimini Day!
The two times I spent in the Thermal Spa were terrific, but I preferred the early morning appointment on Bimini day because it was much more chill.
Enjoy a substantial breakfast to start your day.
Either order room service, head to the Galley, or book a brunch the morning of Bimini. Even though lunch is included at The Beach Club, my family only enjoyed a little of the food or textures. Like many private islands, all the food is cooked on the Ship and brought over by the crew.
Razzle Dazzle prepares the food on the island, so they will not be open for breakfast or lunch.
Hop on the Shuttle to The Beach Club
You can walk around Bimini and eventually make it over to The Beach Club, but save yourself some steps and hop on the shuttle bus to the Beach Club! The team is fun and stops by a few different areas to drop people off at Shore Excursions or Resorts World Bimini before heading to The Beach Club.
When we booked a Shore Things, Bimini Heritage, and Cultural Tour, we did have to walk down the pier to our meeting spot because the Shuttle had a long line, and we were running late!
Leave the Ship early to secure comfy day beds.
If Shore Excursions, Shuttles, and Brunch are not your thing and you want to soak up some sun, leave the Ship early to claim your spot. Plenty of lounge chairs, sun loungers, Hammocks, and comfy seating around The Beach Club await Virgin Voyages guests’ claim.
There are different zones to have a more relaxing day at the beach. The DJs can be loud, so the closer you sit to the water, the less you may hear from the DJ.

Consider renting a cabana for added comfort.
If you have a small party of four people or want to live in luxury, you can rent a Cabana! There are a few different types of cabanas, but my favorite cabana to rent is #13 in the Bimini Rockstar Cabana. Each rental comes with $100 in drinks and your butler. And yes – even those not in the Rockstar suites can rent in this section! You even get a dedicated bar only open to Rockstar suite guests.
If you are balling on a budget, poolside cabanas come at a cheaper rate and keep you close to the DJ-led pool. Either way, renting one of the private cabanas is the way to go!
If it’s your first time, consider skipping shore activities.
If you go on a sailing that stops at Bimini again and trust me, you will want to do more Caribbean sailings with Virgin, then skip the Shore Things on your first trip – especially if you rent a cabana. You will want to enjoy the ocean, explore the pool parties, and participate in some beach activities.
If you’ve already enjoyed the private beach club Experience – book a Shore thing!
There are so many things to do on Bimini that you can rent a golf cart and go all over the island. If being a DIYer is not up your alley, you should look at the Shore Things. I did the Bimini Heritage and Cultura Tour with my mother, but I may want to check out the shipwreck and snorkel the next time I go.
I met a fellow cruiser who said she enjoyed the Paint by the Bay: Bimini Art workshop.
Current Shore things are available through Virgin
- Bimini Heritage and Cultural Tour (tram tour of the island), from $85.
- Paint by the Bay: Bimini Art Workshop, from $85.
- Sapona Shipwreck Swim and Snorkel, from $85.
- Midafternoon pontoon boat cruise, from $100.
- Swim with stingrays, from $115.
- Guided two-tank scuba dive from $150.
- Kayak tour for two, from $150.
- Sapona Shipwreck and Shark Snorkeling, from $140.
- Wild dolphin safari, from $175.
- Jet ski tour for two, from $250.
- Fishing charter, from $250.
Opt to skip lunch or return to the Ship for a meal.
Let’s be honest: I did not enjoy the complimentary lunchtime bites at The Beach Club. After a morning of drinking from my Bar Tab and Cabana Bar tab, I needed something to eat, but the menu was not striking my fancy. There are plenty of food stations where you can collect your food – but I enjoyed getting a fried chicken salad from the Galley much better.
You may have a more adventurous pallet than me, but I only enjoyed the Grilled Corn on the Cob, Crispy Cassava, and Rum Cake.
Utilize your bar tab at the beach.
Typically, when you are at The Beach Club, it is the last day of your cruise. If you have a large Bar tab, it’s time to drain that account. Virgin Voyages Bimini Beach Club is the perfect place to sip on pina coladas (with an extra shot), and make sure you do not leave any bar tab unspent!
Just make sure you know what time the bars close! The Bars tend to close about 2 hours before the all aboard, so Shake for Champagne and have a great time.
Savor a refreshing drink served in a coconut.
If you are looking for an instagrammable photo, the coconuts at all the bars are the best. Ensure you ask the bartender to pop it into the fridge for half an hour before ordering because I did not enjoy the warm coconut. You can add a splash of Malibu and bring back some fun college vibes.
Please participate in the scheduled activities; take advantage of them.
Don’t think that you do not have many activities planned out on your beach or pool day – you can do plenty of things on the island. There is something for everyone, from rejuvenating yoga sessions to fun beach volleyball games.
Take a stroll along the beach.
With over 4.5 acres of land, why not stroll along the beach? One of my favorite things to do on a beach trip is to walk along the Shore of the sand and enjoy the scenery.
Embark on a snorkeling adventure in the crystal-clear waters.
You may find little while snorkeling around The Beach Club, but there are a few rocks where you can find a couple of fish and sea shells in the water. If you want to go snorkeling in the clear, blue water, you should book a shore thing so they can bring you to the best spot.
Attend the DJ pool party to enhance your experience.
The event that everyone loves is the DJ Pool Party! The expansive lagoon-style pool is impressive, to say the least, and adds to the fun vibes and dance parties of a DJ. Then, this is the place to be in the afternoon.
The Beach Club has a dedicated DJ to get the crowd excited. They also bring out all the inflatable pool toys in the afternoon, causing flotilla parties.
It is more challenging to jump on an intertube than it once was when you were a child.
Hang out by the beach bonfire.
On some of the select sailings, there will be dusk or nighttime bonfires where you can hang out! Many people will go back to the boat to shower and freshen up to hang out by the bonfire before it is time for dinner.
