Disney Honeymoon Planning Tips
Congratulations on your engagement and upcoming wedding! Now it’s time to plan the best honeymoon ever – a honeymoon to Wald Disney World.
Did you know that destination experts say that Walt Disney World is one of the most popular places to go on a honeymoon? Walt Disney might be the honeymoon you always wanted with fine dining, exhilarating rides, and VIP excursions.
The Best Time of Year to Go on a Disney Honeymoon for Good Weather
As everyone knows, Florida is hot, and Disney can be expensive. Many factors will go into the best times to go to Walt Disney World for a Honeymoon.
Mid- November – If you plan your honeymoon correctly, you can catch the tail end of the Epcot Food and Wine Festival and the beginning of Disney becoming a Winter Wonderland. By combining these two special events, you will get the most bang for your buck, and you may score some cooler weather.
The second week of January – mid-February – This is the sweet spot in Florida to get cool weather. Hotel prices are lower, but some rides may be closed for refurbishment. Just during this time, make sure you avoid any holiday weekends.
The first few weeks of May – Even though the weather will be warmer in May, many kids are not out of school yet, so that the parks will be less crowded. Try to plan your trip before Memorial Day weekend.
August – September – I tend to avoid travel during Hurricane season, but if you are adventurous and plan on booking travel insurance, go ahead and book during peak hurricane season. It will be hot and steamy, and you need to pop into a water park.Special Events – Make your Honeymoon that much more special by planning it during a special event. Just note that you may want to spend more of your honeymoon during the week than on the weekend because special events draw a crowd.
Walt Disney World Honeymoon Cost
The average cost of a Disney Honeymoon can cost between $3,500-$9,000. The factor of your budget can depend on a few things like hotel, transportation, time of year, and if you do any special excursions or bonuses.
We recommend that our clients stay at a Disney Resort where you can get great prices on value resorts or a moderate resort.
For a honeymoon, you may want to book a Deluxe Resort to make your honeymoon even more memorable. You can expect to pay $150 per person per day for tickets and $50-$150 per person per day for food and drinks.
Either way, you can buy discounted Disney Gift Cards to help offset your Disney honyemoon cost.
Pros of a Disney Honeymoon
A Disney Honeymoon has so many pros! It is a great place to celebrate the start of a long marriage, and there are so many off-the-beaten-path romantic things to do on your honeymoon you will not run out of options.
A Disney Honeymoon is perfect for the Disney diehard fan. However, even if your spouse is not a Disney fanatic, you can still do many activities together, so this honeymoon is not “just” visiting a theme park.
Cons of a Disney Honeymoon
The major con of a Dinsey honeymoon is that you may run yourself into the ground! With all the theme parks, places to eat, and things to do, a Disney World Honeymoon is not a relaxing honeymoon.
You can combat the crazy schedule by having one or two relaxing days to recover from all the walking.
Disney Honeymoon Planning Tips
1. Hire a Disney Travel Agent
The easiest thing you can do to make your Disney World Honeymoon even better is to hire a Disney Travel Agent. Hiring a travel agent will eliminate the stress of planning a honeymoon, and your travel agent will work with you to plan the perfect Disney vacation.
With your honeymoon handled by your travel agent, you must worry about your wedding date and get to the Disney parks.
2. Book Early

Disney is known for their excellent choice of dining options. Still, while celebrating your honeymoon, you should enjoy the special treatment at some of these fantastic places for unique experiences!

Disney has a ton of different behind-the-scenes tours for those Disney Diehards.
You can book the Disney Keys to the Kingdom for a five-hour tour where you will have a great time learning about all of Disney’s secrets at the Magic Kingdom.
From exploring the Utilidor – the underground tunnel – to learning about the man behind the mouse, you will have much fun learning more about your favorite theme park.
